Biography
- Holly is the author of The Surface Designer's Handbook: Dyeing, Printing, Painting and Creating Resists on Fabric.
- She is Professor Emerita of Textiles and Art History at Mendocino College, Ukiah, CA.
- She explores weaving, dévoré (chemical burnout), dyeing, surface design, digital imagery, permanent pleating, multi-fibered fabrics and emerging textile techniques.
- Her textiles are in both private and public collections and range in scale from architectural to miniature.
- Holly’s knowledge has been shared by teaching, curating textile and craft exhibitions, publishing articles, lecturing and exhibiting internationally.
- She has led cultural tours in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and the Americas. Images from travel and indigenous cultures are often used in her textiles.
